  4.         A NOTE ON TESTING THIS NEW RELEASE:

  7.         Several changes have been made since V1.03. If you wish to
  8.  
  9.         test the new program with past logs a couple of things will
  10.  
  11.         have to be done to the logs before loading them.
  12.  
  13.  
  14.         1) The QSO number was expanded to 5 places so a leading
  15.            '0' will have to be added to the QSO number on every line.
  16.  
  17.         2) If you we're running V1.03, the number of transmitters
  18.            was increased to two places so a leading space or digit
  19.            will have to be added to that field.
  20.  
  21.  
  22.         The logger is a disk based system that uses a fixed length
  23.  
  24.         record for the sake of speed as well as reducing the risk
  25.  
  26.         of lost data in a power outage.
  27.  
  28.         Adding information, or removing some, will cause problems
  29.  
  30.         for the system when pulling in the data. My suggestions
  31.  
  32.         are:

  34.                 1) Be careful...
  35.  
  36.                 2) Use a backup of the file when editing.
  37.  
  38.  
  39.         I have received many wonderful suggestions on program improvements
  40.  
  41.         and have read and considered every one. I have implemented
  42.  
  43.         quite a few (when I had time to do so).  I will do what I can
  44.  
  45.         to continue to make the system as useful as possible without
  46.  
  47.         creating a complex system that's too hard to operate at 2:00 AM
  48.  
  49.         during a pile-up.
